It is with a sense of relief, but also pride in our collective resilience as a profession, that we are able to publish the Chief Social Worker for Adults Annual Report 2021-22 in a world which has, at long last, regained some of the familiar trappings of normality.

Fran Leddra and Mark Harvey were originally due to end their time as joint Chief Social Workers for Adults (CSWs) in October this year, yet you may have noticed they are still here.That's why they want to share with you an update from Lyn Romeo, the original Chief Social Worker for Adults currently on sabbatical, to explain why and let you know they will be continuing in their roles until March 2021.

You may have noticed this blog has changed its title and is no longer in my name, Lyn Romeo.

The reasons for this are threefold: firstly to align with the format of other GOV.UK blogs, secondly to emphasise its main focus, but thirdly to signal a temporary but significant change in my personal and professional circumstances.
